Make me think of something that happened a few years back. I tend to talk in my sleep, especially when stressed. Back in 2003 I was having some trouble at work and working 60 hour weeks solo, and my mom had woke me up to talk to me. I came out into the hallway, leaned on a table with one hand and said, “I have something important I have to tell you, but I’ll have to go slow because it’s very complicated.” I was told to go to bed and the world lost whatever revolutionary idea I had had in my dream.
There was a scientist working on a particularly difficult problem, and he started waking up with the solution in the middle of the night. First night, he had no paper at hand–and by the morning he’d forgotten his insight. Second night, he used the paper to write down the essential clue–but in the morning, he couldn’t read the scrawl.
The third night he got up, dressed, and went to the lab, where his insight worked.
On the other hand, according to one theory–almost certainly false, along with all the others out there, the band name “Chumbawamba” is derived from a dream that one of the members had, wherein men were called “chumbas” and women “wambas”.
