We have been putting out stacks of flattened boxes for the recycling truck. Everybody sends one thing in a box, even if you ordered multiple things from them. Except Walmart, everything came in one box with the peanut butter on the bottom. Broken…. peanut oil everywhere. Grrrr

Thank you for a reply, lk ! I always figured that a tater that hangs around long enough will grow “eyes” and thus be rendered seedable. As a kid in the ’60s and ’70s I remember the 10Lb bags of Maine potatoes Dad would get and how Mom was cutting the “eyes” out of so many when peeling them.

Worker’s Memorial Day
National Blueberry Pie Day. I don’t care for blueberries. I’d rather have apple or cherry or strawberry/rhubarb or triple berry (raspberry, blackberry, strawberry) or better still, chocolate cream pie
National BraveHeart Day. I didn’t know what that was, so I looked it up and here is part of what I found:
“National BraveHearts Day on April 28th each year honors the bravery of families dealing with pediatric cancer. It also focuses on the bravery of children suffering from cancer and those who also care so deeply.”
From yesterday’s comments to lauradolan, saying it sounds like I’m ready for vacation – OH YES!!! I an SO VERY READY for vacation! And I have a week of coming up in May – I don’t recall the exact date my vacation starts but I think it’s around the 18th or 19th. I can hardly wait!!!!
Also from yesterday’s comments about Walmart and “Walmartians” – Walmart has set a “limit” for customers in our store, too, but I have to laugh when I hear them say they set a limit. Our “limit” is 651 customers at one time. We usually don’t see more than 200 or so at one time. Yet we still have to have one associate posted out front to count everyone coming and going all day long.
Lots more people must have gotten their stimulus checks Monday because sales were way up and people were spending, spending, spending. And some were there to CASH their stimulus checks (huh – I thought mailed checks were going to take a few more weeks?). I worried about people cashing such a big check there at the store after what one of the CSM’s (Customer Service Managers) told me. She said that people were following some customers out of the store and were trying to rob them. She was a little afraid to go out to her car to go home. Seeing a long line at the service desk while some people were cashing checks had me worried for their safety. We need better security in the store. I was safe going to my car to go home. The customers (and would-be thieves) were all gone and I walked out with a few other associates and I was parked close to the exit doors of the store.
Just because there’s a pandemic going on doesn’t mean we can’t keep things clean and tidy. Kudos to our brave sanitation workers! On another note, saw a a bumblebee, four rabbits, and three geese while out walking today.

Just because there’s a pandemic going on doesn’t mean we can’t keep things clean and tidy. Kudos to our brave sanitation workers! On another note, saw a a bumblebee, four rabbits, and three geese while out walking today.
