never thought to send the dad when my kids were sick… he had to go out and bring in the paycheck,,, My job to take care of kids and home… sorry Elly your not working outside the home, different if u were…
Still, a person needs a certain degree of dexterity when poking pointy things around in peoples mouths. I get awfully clumsy when I’m exhausted. I don’t think I’d want my dentist up all night.
longandgreen: I agree with you. Yes, a stay-at-home mom doesn’t mean she sits around all day watching game shows, soap operas and eating bon-bons; God knows, that is definitely a never-ending (and sometimes soul-sucking) non-paying job if ever there was one! But if this is a weeknight (and not a weekend) and John has to get up in the morning and go to work in his dental office, I think it’s more important that he be allowed to get his rest. caseva77 and howtheduck are absolutely right. When I go to the dentist and they’re poking, prodding and scraping around in my mouth with extremely sharp instruments, I want them well-rested and in good health! (I’d also prefer it if they hadn’t had a fight with their spouse that morning before coming in to work too!)

Nothing soothes quite like Mom’s touch when you’re feeling sick.

Not working outside the home doesn’t mean you don’t work! I needed all the help I could get with 4 kids under 7.

Longandgreen, what century are you from? A father’s responsibility is to his family first, then his occupation.

Oh yes, she can nap all day while the maid, laundress, chef and housekeepers take care of everything.

longandgreen, just because he works outside the home doesn’t mean dad can’t nurture once in a while!!

I think some of you have missed the words “again” and “turn.” Who knows how many times Elly has already gotten up.
