Might I suggest that before blanket resumption of certain types of exercise that all read this pre-publication reference to avoid creating an unnecessary level of risk:
The Journal is Emerging Infectious Diseases, Vol 26, No 8 for August 2020
In South Korea they have found that aerobic exercise indoors apparently caused a situation in which people were much more likely to become infected. Note the two qualifiers that this was inside and that the exercise was aerobic. More gentle exercise did not present that problem and outdoors there is better ventilation. In the future gym settings may need to rethink indoor ventilation, but currently aerobic exercise is best done in open settings or as remote classes until more is known.
We have friends who are slated for their country’s Olympic team and their physicians are advising exercise that is more centered around form and precision while avoiding any chance of overtraining for yet another reason: it is better for not dipping immune performance.
With swimming there is the added problem that bathrooms and locker rooms often are involved. Keeping those public areas safe enough is a real challenge with this coronavirus, and how to do so is an added consideration which all must take into account.
