AGAIN with the rooster in her hair. PLEASE someone help me with this!

Umber implies a certain tonality however, it’s a yellow-brown. Sienna is a red brown-at least in art supplies! Both can be quite dark, of course.

So she’s got a comb in her hair.

It does look like a rooster, doesn’t it? I think what it’s supposed to represent is shadow to give a bit of fullness to what are essentially tone-on-tone 2-dimensional figures.

Have you ever noticed how people’s hair grows out of the crown of their heads? It follows a sort of swirly pattern. I think that’s what Scott is trying to depict by the rooster shape in Missy’s hair.

Personally, I love Scott’s drawing style and how he re-uses his figures. Not to mention his awesome sense of humour. This is one of my favourite strips. Makes me LOL pretty near every time!!

I’d love to see Missy take over another strip sometime. She totally rocks!
