I used to think that Dilbert’s boss was the boss that I would least want to work for.

Had co-workers, subordinates like Thornapple AND bosses like Veeblefester. I survived!

Had one coworker that was a pretty decent engineer. After they tagged him for management he became more of a jerk as he rose through the ranks, and he became almost unbearable. His favorite game was to assign little side research projects. When the results were returned he’d look things over quickly and say. “No, no, that’s not what I want.” If you were lucky he might give a tiny hint at what he was looking for. And the process would repeat. We’d rack our brains trying to determine what he wanted, and the process would repeat. Sometimes the project would never be resolved. But he would still criticize you the entire time for taking too long, and not focusing on your regular work.

Incompetents will find their own level.

Not if they’re elected!

And you’ll be the first to die in a hostage situation…

As middle management, delegate so you’ll have someone to blame it on.

At least Thornapple doesn’t have pointy haired peers (Pointy Hair Boss from Dilbert)
