There’s no reason it can’t be both.

Could be both, but it sure doesn’t appear that Barney is getting enlightened. Has he used any part of his billions to alleviate homeless suffering yet?

I think of “Ca Plane Pour Moi” as a Francophone Buzzcocks.

(However, Eldo, I must point out that Plastic Bertrand is Belgian. The French have the best national anthem, but they can’t ROCK!)

Sorry to be the bearer of sad tidings, Eldo. Actually, we must be on the same wavelength, because just this weekend I name-dropped Plastic Bertrand and “Ca Plane Pour Moi” in the comments to an editorial cartoon (I think it was Auth),to make the same point: the French excel at many things, but they can’t rock.

The only other song IN French I can think of that rocks is “Hungry For You (j’aurais toujours faim de toi)”, but that was written and performed by a Geordie boy.

Socrates is one of the most famous philosophers of all time but to his wife, Xanthippe, he was worthless bum who sat around all day yakking with his buddies while she had to support him.
