Melody: What records would you take with you to a deserted island?
Horace: There'd be electricity?
Melody: Well...
Horace: Wait- I got it! I would have an old hand crank record player! "Here I am, stranded and hungry... hey how about some music?"

Maybe hungry, but not thirsty after you get the pink lemonade!

….and that’s ALL you’re getting tonight, Horace.

He does have a point. I’d rather have it silent and be well fed than music every day. I’ll take a fishing pole, instead.

I thought he was getting hot tongue and cold shoulder for dinner tonight

Horace does have a point and this time it’s not on the ends of his ears

TRIVIA OF THE DAY
Any of you fine folks recognize the LP Melody is holding?
(We see the front cover)

I don’t recognize it–but the “Desert Island Disks” always made less sense for me than “Desert Island Books”–and that was pretty silly too.
“Oh, I’m going to be stranded on a desert island, so I’ll pack exactly five books–and not a radio, or extra water and food, or some other survival gear.”

The album cover looks like John and Yoko’s from the late 60’s. I think it was titled “Live in Peace” or some close to that. Plain and simple cover. with a cloud that might have had a silver lining.

If you’re taking them with you, then you’re going there deliberately, so there probably would be electricity. If you’re using them for karaoke, that would be a good reason the island is deserted.

I love records, and I love collecting them. Playing records is much more of an event in picking and choosing your music and listening to it.
Much more interactive than just putting on cds or mp3s and hiting repeat and/or shuffle.
