The idea began with “Baby Blues” co-creator Rick Kirkman, who contacted some of his fellow cartoonists about coordinating a campaign while sheltering in place. Kirkman’s syndicate, King Features, and the National Cartoonists Society helped boost the initiative, as did Andrews McMeel Syndication.
The forecast is for gradually decreasing infections and deaths. Unless folks gather in large groups, attend a rally or church service where people are speaking or singing without masks on, or generally: Act like things haven’t changed.
We went to our local Farmers Market opening today. Booths spread further apart, most attendees and all vendors masked (though not all effectively masked) and a process whereby we all wend our way past the booths in the same direction. Assisted in this case by the wind (see my comment at Stone Soup, if you wish). I felt… an acceptable amount of risk. But there’s no way in hell that I’ll be attending group gatherings or even going out to eat (in): If we depend on developing herd immunity “the natural way”, millions (11.5 millions, more or less) of people will die of Covid-19 in the USA. Thats 100 times as many as have died to date. Better, imo, to await a vaccine if it’s at all possible for you.
