Person: Senior citizens' legal-aid advisory. May I help you? Dusty: Yes, ma'am. I've got a question. I'm on the computer researchin' my family history related to my grandfather, Otis Winters... Person: Yes, sir... Dusty: Apparently he was involved in a cattle rustlin' incident near Topeka in 1875...has the statute of limitations run out on that - and if not, can the sheriff come after me? Hello?

Seems a legitimate question to me.

That’s why I can never visit England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales. According to my father our ancestors came to Canada about 1/2 step ahead of the hangman’s noose for cattle rustling and horse stealing back in the 1700’s and 1800’s. I’m probably wanted under half a dozen different last names for their crimes.

I was told by family that some of my ancestors were pirates off the coast of Sicily. I’ve never actually tried to go to Italy, but I hope they aren’t still waiting to arrest people with my maiden name! (If I go, I’ll be sure to use my married name, lol).
