Why do I feel this may not be a joke?

They charge more than most can pay for coverage of things that are likely. It’s a poor neighborhood with low property values because it’s flood-prone. I’m only covered for space invasion if they actually damage the house.

When I took over my mother’s affairs I found my late father had been paying a premium for “water damage.” The premium only applied for flood damage and their apartment was on the 19th floor!
