Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
The amazing thing with da DeSoto was that the engines usually went on forever while the bodies rotted away(all Chrysler products)- so the longevity of this finned warrior IS remarkable!
dtroutma - most cars rusted away before the industry figured out rust-proofingâŠespecially in the Pacific NW, NE, Midwest, East Coast and SouthâŠ.
Those lucky enough to live in the dry states (SW and California) still have to contend with dry-rot.
Just frame it and stop driving it. Add up all the money youâve spent fixing it and fix it that much cosmetically and put it on display. Charge a quarter to see it. My other business is a lemonade stand.
^ your â61 Comet was a Ford product! Need I say more?
Iâve got FIVE Chrysler products from that era (1958, the one I learned to drive in when it was Dadâs, through 1963). They are ALL the most reliable cars I have ever seen, or I wouldnât still have them! They have ALL seen neighborâs cars (certainly Fordâs included! and LOTS of General Motors trash!) come into the world and go to the junk yard regularly! I donât own any other cars than these. I donât NEED any other cars than these! They will ALL go well over 100 miles per hour with even the slightest encouragement from me! Yes, I DO live in the desert in California, so idiot governmentsâ putting salt on the roads in the wintertime is NOT a problem for my cars. But the phenomenal RELIABILITY of all these Chrysler product cars I have is absolutely astonishing! But of course, Shoe wouldnât be a comic strip if they didnât make unjustified fun of this De Soto. And, oh, by the way, Iâm also a retired mechanical engineer, so I NEVER take these cars to a service station for somebody like âIrvâ to screw up because HE never saw one of these cars in his life before either! I grease and maintain these cars myself, because I know what Iâm doing!!

Dodge made a Coronet (sp?) model. Perhaps thatâs Dogsmiffâs link.

Rickmac1937 - - Both the â58 and â59 models had the big tail fins, but the trim on the side makes it a â59.
Love those 50âs!!!
