    Social distancing doesn’t mean complete isolation, unless you are in quarantine. They’ve shown that in previous strips.

    Homeless people, sadly, are less able to keep to social distancing, which may very well kill them. Clyde has more options than most, Barney has, on more than one occasion, offered him money and jobs, which he refused (or donated, in the case of cash).

    Yes, this is a depressing time, but the quote is NOT appropriate, because this is temporary – to all of us who survive it. Plus, he’s talking to Barney, who is someone who enables him to examine his own life.
