I’m not much of a cook but I do make a great macaroni with a white cream cheese sauce topped with a sprinkle of grated orange cheddar. The kids loved it!
When I first “moved out” I could only afford store brand mac & cheese, which in 1980 cost something like 5 for a quarter. After I got a job I never ate that drek again!
Does anyone really eat Mac & Cheese from the box without embellishing? When I’m in a hurry, I’ll boil up the box of macaroni, add the cheese packet, then dump in a stick of REAL butter, some grated 4-cheese blend, a bit of gartlic, some veggies from the freezer – you know, make it food!
Throw in some peas and onions and you have a bit more. Throw in sliced hot dogs and onions and you have something with protein. Throw in a can of tuna with the peas and onions and some bread crumbs and you have tuna casserole. Throw it all out and you can have good food.
