The best part of Spring is skirts, no shorten that.

The best part of spring is… naps in my outside chair.

My theory: The word was originally “wowman.” It has been shortened over the centuries to “woman.”

The fruit was named before the color, though. Only the fruit and the color are both actually called “naranja.”

So I start looking for a picture of J-Woww from ‘Jersey Shore’ to make a counterpoint, and I couldn’t find one that was suitable to post for a comics audience.

In Dutch they’re called “sinaasappel” derived from Chinese apple. The Dutch brought them from China in the 17th century.
