It’s a comic so I’m not expecting authenticity, but I thought readers might be interested to learn that a crow’s nest is not standard equipment on sailing ships. They were used on whaling ships sailing in the Arctic to keep the lookout from freezing to death. In warmer climates, the lookout was expected to sit on a spar and hold on to the mast.

A wee design problem for a wee Fink?

The Fink has a choice: either leave it up and charge a drawbridge fee, or keep it down and add a crow’s nest replacement tax.
