When I was single back in the late 70’s early 80’s I hiked/drove solo all over west Texas. Never once did I think about being stranded. Once I get out there again (once retired) I’m renting a sat phone on my trips. I’ve read too many storys about stranded travelers who died or almost have. No thx.
