Ah. I had to look up NICU (neonatal intensive care unit).
I’d have to double check with my wife (who worked in L&D [labor and delivery] ) but I’m sure that NICU nurses are not actually at the births, they only take care of them afterwards. L&D nurses are the ones who handle the deliveries.
