Not doing/thinking/feeling stuff like this is why my husband and I are still happy after 57 years of marriage. Mutual respect and always giving more than you take goes a long way.
Oh c’mon, that’s just hypocritical. What is it she was going to get so upset about by being pushed in the pool anyway? She wasn’t planning on getting wet at the pool?
with humor you have to think about what the OTHER person finds funny. Bub doesn’t mind a bit of unexpected rough housing. He is bigger and stronger and can handle it. Betty, getting unexpectedly shoved, is more likely to get hurt and would not find it funny. That being said, getting pushed into shrubbery doesn’t mean a soft landing for either of them. And age changes things, too. The rough housing we might have done 10 years ago probably wouldn’t be as much fun today.
It was at that point that Betty felt the sharp pain of metal at the back of her head. CLANG! “Good work Junior!” Bub said as he got out of the bushes. “I got your back, Dad!” Junior responded. Bub looked down at Betty’s prone body and said, “Pop the trunk on the car. We need to take a trip to the rock quarry.” Later that night Bub and Junior celebrated by eating frozen Snicker bars.
I don’t think this is funny. and I HATE it when couples smear wedding cake on each others faces. Really not a good sign for the marriage. I saw a guy on “reality” tv warn the bride who was holding the cake “remember, I follow your lead”. I thought that was great.
glad he thought it was funny because it could have ended so different if branches in the bushes had stabbed him in places we don’t want to mention. i’m kind of surprised Betty would have taken that chance uless they have done something like that to each other before.

So spousal abuse is funny? And if it’s not ok for him to do it, it’s not ok for her either.

That’s odd. My partner is always telling me I need to be more spontaneous.

It could be funny if Betty had a sense of humor.
