Dear Mr. Alcaraz, Regarding your recent comic strip claiming that Latinos do not appear in disaster movies, specifically "Titanic"... My Mexican wife says that since Titanic was filmed in Rosarito, Mexico with many extras floating in a large tank of water... many of the floating extras were Mexican. Sincerely, PH, San Diego I know some readers are now thinking of a "swimming illegal immigrant" joke here, so stop it.

Note to Editor. I believe “swimming illegal aliens’ jokes were started almost a century ago about WithOut Papers immigrants. They lived through the ridicule and started a large underground organization.

If it was filmed in Mexico, they weren’t immigrants. Maybe the joke is they were going to use CGI, but Mexicans were cheaper.

Doug Dash, I thought that the industry was only interested in whether the bottom line was Black or Red. So, I guess us Brown, Yellow and Whites don’t count, TALENT or NOT. just BOTTOM LINE (no pun intended) and LOOKS.
