If they filled the arenas with inflated fans they could likely sell them all after each game and recoup a large percentage of ticket revenue. If they made them based on the purchasers supplied photos, they could probably recoup the full admission price.
Years ago the NFL tried a month of games (broadcast and not) without announcers. They heard many complaints from the field, the stands and elsewhere. Howard Cosell, an announcer for years of NFL broadcasts, said he enjoyed the sportsmanship, the fellowship, the fun/enjoyment of professional football. As he said then, it’s not what it was. It’s not now either.
I wonder what he would be saying now. He did have a sense of humor about most things, seemingly.
