The 12 days of Christmas are the 12 days of the Christmas Season as observed by some Christian Churches/Denominations. It begins with Christmas Day as day 1 and ends with the 12th day which is January 5th. The next day, January 6th, is observed by some as Epiphany Day (the observance of the coming of the Magi and the first day of the Epiphany Season).
Before the Christmas Season is the Advent Season (beginning on the 4th Sunday before Christmas).

Of course these are delayed, but I just saw a Christmas tree put out for the trash, the day before Valentine’s day!
