I’ve sometimes wondered how the players who play for the “rent-a-win” smaller colleges felt about being sacrificial lambs so their alma mater can get a payday. Yes, once in a blue moon a “cupcake” catches a powerhouse on an off-day, or the powerhouse takes them more lightly than they should have, and stages an upset win. But those are all the more notable because they happen so infrequently.
