Horace: I need a new motto in my life. Maybe something along the lines of... "I don't need anybody's advice, I know what's good for me." How's that sound?
Sine: Well...
Three problems: we don’t always know what is good for us, when we know it we don’t always want it, and even when we want it, we don’t always manage to achieve it.
One more problem: even that which is good for us can be bad if not used in moderation. Too much oxygen, water, sleep, exercise, food, can cause just as many problems as not enough.

I learned long ago that many people just like the sound of good advice as it goes in one ear and out the other.
