Comments:1) Using x-ray vision in poker is cheating, and Superman would never cheat.2) The movie may subvert this, but (as I recall) in the comics you don’t need to be worthy to LIFT Thor’s hammer, you just need to be strong enough. But only the worthy (like Beta Ray Bill, the alien) can access its POWER.3) One of Cap’s special “powers” is that he always wins, regardless of his opponents’ superior intelligence, strength, tactics, intelligence, personality, effort, intelligence, integrity, charm, and/or intelligence. (If that “luck” is actually supernatural, even Superman would be defenseless against it.) So it’s not surprising that he would cleanup at poker, even without cheating (although he probably did that too).4) The one item among his winnings that Cap probably would NOT be able to make use of is Green Lantern’s ring, since that requires an imagination…
Fritzoid: In JLA/Avengers, after the crisis has passed, Superman isn’t even able to lift the hammer anymore, so at the very least its liftability is inconsistent if you’re unworthy,
The Hulk has lifted the hammer, however Superman has a problem with magic. I expect someone reminded the writer of that. I bet the ‘Big Red Cheese’ could lift it.

I would say he must have cheated but he isn’t smart enough to get away with cheating.
