The fundamental flaw with the “open the door/window” strategy is that there are always a lot more bugs outside that can come in than there are inside that can leave.
This one feels like a 1950s Nancy.
One of the fundamental mysteries of flies. If the windows and doors were first closed, then how did the first fly get inside?
Heh, the suburban equivalent of “take off and nuke it from orbit”.
It looks like the flies are smarter than Nancy.
Sitting in an office doing after-hours catch up work.
A fly is buzzing me, driving me to distraction.
I’m remembering that most flying insects tend to fly toward a light in the dark.
I open the door to the microwave oven, the interior light comes on.
I turn off the overhead lighting. Amazingly, within ten seconds, the fly dive bombs straight into the oven!
Oven door closed. Oven switched on. Fly dead in a few seconds!
I open the oven quickly… because who wants a burnt or exploded fly in their microwave?
Dump fly into wastebasket.
A flea and a fly in a flue
Were imprisoned, so what could they do?
Said the fly, “let us flee!”
“Let us fly!” said the flea.
So they flew through a flaw in the flue.
The set-up is great, but the punchline is brilliant. Bravo, Olivia.
Nature is your friend. And she’s very pushy.
You know what you need, Nancy? A … fly strip.
Call Sluggo. I hear he’s Flit.
