So, last week, I finally got around to calling roofers to come look at my roof. I called 4 places. Three of them said they would come on Monday (yesterday). One said they would be here at about 2:30 in the afternoon. one said they’d be here around 4:00 or 5:00, one said they would be here “sometime later in the day” and one said they would call me on Monday to set up a day and time to stop here. The one who said they’d be here at about 2:30 was here at 2:35. The other 2 who were going to be here on Monday never showed up and the other one that said they would call never called. Guess which one has my vote so far when it comes to choosing a roofer? I will wait until I get estimates from at least 3 of the roofers, but I really liked the guy who showed up today. He promised a detailed bid on all I need done, including the gutters & all. I hope it is not out of my reach. I asked how soon he could do my roof if I chose him, knowing he surely had jobs lined up ahead of me and he sad it would be before winter – maybe in 2 months. Yes, that is good for me because it means I get a few more paychecks and (I HOPE), maybe another government stimulus check. I hope I can do the roof this year (doing only half my roof – the front 2 sections. The rest will have to wait a couple more years).

4,200 LPs would take an immense amount of room! Even 4,200 discs — does the mp3 format have organizational advantages as well?
Each album is in a separate folder on my external hard drive. Together they take up just under 600 GB of space and growing. I have a folder named Jazz with subfolders (individual albums). Another folder is Big Band Music and subfolders containing 1940’s. This is all in a master folder named Music which is backed up to two other external hard drives. I have nothing on my computer now after losing everything in a crash five years ago. I learned my lesson. And external drives are cheap as dirt.

This morning a Spitfire did a flyover of the hospital around the corner from us. Under the wings was written, ‘Thank U NHS’. I heard it and knew it wasn’t one of the usual helicopters that come in to the hospital. Wasn’t quick enough to get a photo of it, though.
Looks like Chesney’s trying out for the job of music critic with his somewhat wry observations. I’ve actually heard all three of those songs. In fact, I especially remember “Papa Loves Mambo” from “Back to the Future Part II.” On another note, saw three rabbits and a dragonfly while out walking today.

None of those songs are my taste, but leave Annie alone, Ches. She has a right to like anything she wants.

Better gather up those records, Annie, before Chesney scratches them!~

This post from bbear yesterday was funny in its timing. I heard a crash in another room just about one minute before seeing this.

You can safely wash records in warm water but don’t put them on the floor, anyway. (DON’T SCRUB.)
