big nate story arc idea: gina gets a boyfriend and when nate finds out he gets a little suspicious. francis and teddy asks nate why he cares because he hates gina. nate says he wonders why gina’s boyfriend would be into a girl like gina. francis and teddy think that nate is jealous and that he secretly likes gina. Later in the week, nate overhears gina’s boyfriend saying that he’s using gina to make his ex girlfriend jealous and nate tries to warn gina, but she doesn’t believe him. Eventually, she finds out and is heartbroken and devastated. She tells nate that despite the fact they don’t see eye to eye a lot, she thanks him for saving her from the relationship

story ark idea: panel 1. Nate is working in the library. he sees jenny. he starts making a STAN cupid comic. panel 2. Stan sees Nate walking toward jenny. he says, wow look at those unmatched kids! panel 3. he shoots a anti-love dart at Nate. panel 4. Nate in real comic walks past jenny without caring about her. Tuesday. jenny thinks Nate is just trying to make her jealous. then she sees Nate walking towards another girl and talking to her. jenny realizes that nate is no longer in love with her and actually gets jealous. Then Dan cupid looks at stan cupid and says nowlook what you’ve done.

pretty dull strip, though i suppose it could lead to something fun enough, if a bit of a generic “nate gives bad oral report” vibe. i’m giving it a C+

In 9th grade, our book reports were due. Neither my best friend nor I was prepared. He pulled a comic book out of his spiral bound and wrote a report on it as if it were a book. Desperate, and with no comic book to fall back on, I spied a graded book report in the trash from the last class – 10th graders. I pulled it out and re-wrote it in my own hand writing and turned it in. My buddy got a C; I got a B. (By the way – the 10th grader whose report I stole only got a C). But fate paid me back – I became a high school teacher!

why is the next comic not out?

I have been reading Big Nate on GoComics since 2012 and finally made an account. I did because the Big Nate community seems interesting, given I only came here to read the daily strip.
