Nancy: What does your father do for a living, Alvin?
Boy: Can you keep a secret?
Nancy: Sure.
Boy: Will you promise not to tell a soul?
Nancy: SURE.
Boy: He makes antique furniture.
I remember a sequence in Leslie Torner’s “Captain Easy” where the Kallikak family [carrying on the tradition of hillbilly humor] was being used in a scam by the wealthy McKee to make new furniture look like antiques by letting them use it for a couple of days. They found out what was happening and decided to help, and let’s just say it didn’t work out.

If you think about it, nothing says his dad wasn’t making future antique furniture, since it would be, now.
