Sorry, I just don’t get this strip. Does Fritzi think Nancy is really ill? Or is this just a ploy to get Nancy bedridden, filled with that detestable castor oil, and then steal her $5.00?

Having found a five dollar bill, Nancy will be very greedy and gluttonous and then a little patient.

After the medication comes the lecture about wasting the $5.00?

I looked it up – $5 in 1955 would be worth $56.13 today – that’s a lot of candy.

Fritzi knew Nancy would spend it on sweets and be sick so she preparing….

Five dollars would buy a heck of a food binge in those days.
