When Annie complains about the smell, you know you have issues. Just think what it’s like to be in Dad’s position…

You know, I’ve noticed you can just about buy any ol’ car these days to get the spoiler, as it seems to be a default for most cars. My ’98 Toyota Camry, for example, is definitely no flashy or fast car, but it has a spoiler. So did the ’02 Pontiac Grand Am I had before that, a car I often joked was trying hard to be “sportier” than it actually ever really was. :P

The first new car I ever bought was a Toyota Corolla with an extra-special Sport Package. A 4 to 1 gear ratio in first gear, five forward gears (so, a “five-on-the-floor”), 4-cylinder hemi engine, mag wheels, racing stripes, spoiler, and the tach out on the hood. It was beautiful! The first night I had it, a guy at work with an Opal GT wanted to drag me. It took a lot of convincing, but I agreed. The guy that flagged us off got pelted with pebbles as I smoked the tires on take-off! I was beating him handily when I finally came to my senses and backed off, letting him win, and hopefully keeping my poor tight new engine healthy. Some time later, on a lonely stretch of highway, I got it up to 104 mph.☺

Note: Dougie has never looked so happy in this strip. Dad needs to spoiler him more.

First I thought she meant she felt exhausted from listening to them.
