Here, from ten years in the future, I was at first wondering what was Bruce’s purpose? But I see you folks from ten years in my past have done a very creditable job on this question already. I’m sure others will find inspirations not covered already, but I at least got nothin’.

Darrin is using Bruce to test the ability of a top-heavy vehicle to travel over rough terrain.
