    The trick is to give order, wait 5 minutes, then my wife and I both get out our phones, just to have to put them away, because the food has arrived.

    What is this preoccupation we have for the need of entertainment, especially when we are with someone with whom we are not paying attention to. The art of communication orally with others is dying and unless we change, it will never be able to be revived…..

    Sadly, since the ubiquity of the smartphone our attention spans have gone from 30 minutes to about 2 minutes, no wonder he’s coloring his hands are empty otherwise.

    When we were going to restaurants, my husband and I used to play table hockey with crumpled straw wrappers or empty sweetener packets while waiting for our food.
