Now there’s a massive overgeneralization about insects and arthopods in general if there ever was one. In many insect species both sexes die shortly after mating, for example - the female, soon after laying her eggs.
Still, this species of sentient arthopod shouldn’t have a king, given what we read a little while back about the royal wedding… unless there’s some reproductive strategy we’re not being told about in addition. :)

It’s a heartfelt “Oh, boy,” every time. If you had to deal with that many kids, you’d want another mug of (Irish) coffee, too. Fill ‘em up.
