How did Hubbs cut the umbilical cord? OMG!He didn’t chew it, did he? It should be clamped before severing the connection to the placenta.

He did it…the delivered Ellie’s baby! I didn’t expect to see the “bun fresh out of the oven”, but a newborn is always beautiful to me! :)

Sedine said the new car smell was gone, but now the beetle has that new baby smell, I hope she likes it! XD

I wonder if Bea settled on a name yet? If not I like the name Ethan for a boy, but if this is a girl, I can’t believe I forgot, but I just so happen to have made up a never-before-used girl’s name, but I’ll only tell it to Bea, she’s free to inquire. ;)

Hubbs is going to be a good father. He was able to deliver his baby in a moving car while his wife was screaming.

Congratulations, Hubbs! I don’t know when football season starts, but you just made the play of the decade! And on the first day of Fall, too!

You did good, Hubbs… You did good.

Now, can someone please bring out the Jaws of Life, because Herbie the Love Bug needs a C-section?

And get three stretchers! One for Ellie and the baby, one for Sedine and one for whomever faints first.

Boy or girl. Got some hair, long eyes lashes.

How did the cord get severed? Don’t see a scalpel or even a pocket knife anywhere. Bitten off, like my cat did?

I wonder how much he/she weighs?

When my wife gave birth to our first son, he weighed 12 1/2 pounds.

1 year and 4 months later, she gave birth to our second son, and he weighed 16 1/2 pounds.

Both times, I went down to the maternity ward when the newborn babies were on display, and stand off to the side, out of the way.

Then, when other people came to see a new born baby, they would inevitably look at each baby, and when they saw my son, they would exclaim, “Wow! 12 1/2 pounds (or, for my second son, 16 1/2 pounds)!”

And I would jump out from the side, with my thumbs holding my shirt out (like holding out suspenders) and say loudly, “That’s MY son!”

Needless to say (and other husbands will understand this) I have never told this story to my wife.

I’m back! What I miss? Did you miss me?

This comic is doubly important to me. My sister gave birth to her firstborn son (my first nephew) this evening. It was done boring in a hospital, not in the back of a Bug, but this comic will forever be something symbolic for me :) I’ll only be able to look at Hubb’s kid and only see my nephew, Jett.
