I forgot what a coincidence this is, an arc about a birth with my birthday as part of it, does anyone else have a birthday soon that this arc might take up?
Hubbs, having a newborn with you doesn’t give you the right to hurt other people, you could be charged with assault, won’t papa’s mugshot be a cute addition to the baby book. XD
You know, the last time I saw a newborn was my cousin 6 years ago, yet I can’t imagine what it’s like seeing your own child newly born for the first time, yet I expected Hubbs to be more happy than angry.
A torn umbilical cord can be extremely dangerous. After delivery, you should wait several minutes, as oxygen is still being transfered through the umbilical cord. Too soon deprives the baby of oxygen, and can cause reduced mental capacity and other health issues.
Normally we tie off above and below the cut line, and we do not sever it until it stops pulsating, and several minutes have passed. The cord should be cut a minimum of 4 inches away from the baby’s belly in the field, it can be closer in an operating room, at least that’s what I recall.
If it is still pulsating when it is severed, it can cause harm to either or both the mother or the child. The child will suffer anemia and low blood volume. In my first career as a surgeon, I never delivered a baby, but I was a trauma surgeon, in a military hospital. As an Aerospace Engineer I have delivered one child, I always thought it was wierd that I delivered a child in this career. and not in my previous one
Considering the parents, and the drama at birth— this kid is going to be the strongest, toughest, most able character in the story— even before walking.
A lot of people are inquiring about Elli’s well-being, but what about Sedine? She was crushed under Ellie the whole ride, and that’s right after a international plane ride

When Hubbs delivers a baby, he goes all the way. I just hope Sedine will be okay. She’ll need a hospital bed more than anyone else.
And don’t think I didn’t noticed the mummified Usopp in Panel Three! Nice touch.

At least he didn’t spike the baby.
