I can’t say if things are better now than when I was a kid but right and wrong were definitely far more clearly defined and adhered to… at least in our community..
Speaking of history. My broker was hosting a bonfire party for his daughter and classmates that are graduating this year. After listening to their conversations for a while, he sat down and asked them (6 college bound girls) if he could ask them some history questions. Who did we fight in the Civil War, zero correct answers, who did we fight in WWII only one girl came up with Japan but none knew Germany or Italy. The he asked who Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, and Rosa Parks are and everyone know everything about them. Nothing wrong with teaching the history of civil rights, but we definitely should also teach a little more depth in American history.

I love listening to older people talk. You learn a lot about their lives and how it was “back then”.

That was one of the problems I had while playing “Trivia Pursuit”. What they called history, I thought of current events.
