    HAPPY HALLOWEEN VAGABONDS!!

Currently 17 degrees outside heading up to 38 and it is clear.

Blue Moon setting over the Lowell ridge, the second full moon of October 2020. A Halloween full moon, do you suppose there will be witches meeting up tonight? (^.^)Going back to the tale of the doctor’s grave concerns, fear of being buried alive was wide spread inspiring many grave products for those who did not want to suffer from premature burial.

A story from England, a young woman had just died and was laid to rest. Her family being wealthy had placed on her some of her jewelry (gold you know). Well, a grave robber came calling the night after the burial and dug her up. One of the rings on her fingers would not come off so the robber started to cut off the finger. She cried out in pain (wonder if his heart stopped) the cries brought the care takers and the girl went home. This story is found in European lore from the 14th to the 19th century. The version I found claims she was the mother of Sir Walter Raleigh. Eh, could be. (^.^)

Have a good All Hallows Eve Vagabonds, may God bless y’all.

    Good Halloween morning, Vagabonds,

It was 32 this morning, and it’ll reach 48 this afternoon. Not quite the 62 it was yesterday, but I’ll take it. I’d say about 85% of our snow melted from Sunday’s storm. Not too bad.

I do miss seeing the children all dressed up in their costumes. We live too far in the boonies for the kids to come.

We tried Costco’s Chicken Chili White Bean soup for dinner yesterday. Deeeelicious! And we have 3 servings left for another day. Next time I’ll make some corn bread to go with it.

    xoxo

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

Our new dresser arrived this morning, and it looks great! The only problem is that it is missing one of the screws that holds a handle onto the drawer. Off to Lowe’s later. Either that or back to Walker to demand a replacement (of the screw, not the dresser).

The flooring is finished and looks absolutely great. It is lighter than the old stuff and makes the rooms look brighter. The guys were gracious enough to install our bidet attachments while they were putting the toilets back together. Let’s see we received them in the mail back on April 10, so it only took 6 months…. (And yes, I really like them. Nuff said.)

I don’t expect a lot of kids this evening. We only got a few last year and with Covid, I doubt we’ll see even that many. That’s okay. I bought only a couple of bags and those are ones that we like (Butterfinger and Baby Ruth) so they won’t go to waste.

At the moment (9:50 AM) it is 60 degrees on its way up to 82. We’re looking at the low 80’s for the next week or so, then back down into the 60’s.

Everyone be safe and have a blessed day.
