I have considered finding out if a candidate has a secret straightjacket tucked away somewhere! But… in the current world environment… that might be a bonus for everyone to vote for them!
I’m getting tired of voting only against another candidate or for the lesser of two bad choices. There are a few hopes on the horizon but one party needs sweeping changes, one is dead to me, one is a carbon copy, one is a nightmare evil twin, and one is hopeful but not very practical yet by a longshot. Those are not choices – they’re consolation prizes or participation trophies.
IMHO – the only person that has your principles is you – everyone else is going to vary from just a bit to the complete opposite. voting is getting the one closest to what you think life and living are all about. so run for office yourself and see how many people share your “principles” OR do your “search party” (and I don’t mean listening to the sensationalized clickbait MainStreamMedia who are in it for the clicks to get money) or even your favorite search engine – they will ALL censor/lie to show you what they want you to see to get what they want – OR NOT your choice/freedom – you have a 50/50 chance of getting it right. js
which is why I think there’s room out there for a 3rd party that takes the middle ground, is pragmatic but progressive, idealistic but conservative (in the best sense).
Did you know that BOTH the Democratic and Republican parties were once THIRD PARTIES? Don’t you think it’s time to bring ANOTHER third party into power? Start considering the LIBERTARIAN PARTY before your next election.

If you agree with someone 100% you are either A) that person, or B) in a cult.

Politicians have principles, and if you don’t like them… well, they will have others.
