I used to have dreams where I forgot to go to a class for most of a semester and then suddenly I had to figure out where the classroom was to take the final.
That is why his grades and others so down. My own son would try to hide his assignments. I tried everything even brought up to his HS with his paper’s trying to embarrass him that did not work.
It’s funny – this sort of comic doesn’t resonate well in some other countries where education beyond grade school (8th grade or so) isn’t mandatory. There is a good deal more respect even from students for education when there is a direct tuition. It is part of the argument for not providing more financial support for post high school education – that if you have to pay for it you value it more. There are other societal costs, certainly, but there are benefits.
