I voted absentee, he voted in-person. It took three tries as there is only one polling place until November 3 and then 43 polls will be conbined into 11. At least no one was grumbling who stood in line. I received a hard copy from the state election committee stating that my ballot had been received and approved.
I’ve began voting by absentee ballot when I started traveling outside CA 50 years ago. I had to re-apply to vote absentee then to vote by mail for many years until it became automatic for my “vote by mail ballot” to be sent to me. Checked online last week and my ballot was received and processed—HOORAY!!! I have only voted twice at a polling location. I prefer the comfort of completing my ballot at home and then dropping it into the slot at the post office (not in a mail box on the street).
I live in Chicago. For years, we’ve had mail-in voting available to any registered voter. It’s so easy, and you don’t even need a stamp.
So I requested a mail-on ballot on the first day the list opened. I voted almost two weeks ago on my birthday, as that seemed appropriate, and I dropped it off at the drop box at the early voting location as I was walking that way. I got my confirmation email.
I actually prefer to vote in person. It makes me feel good to vote. It seems to barbaric to me that if I lived just 101 years ago, I would not have been allowed my right to vote. And no, men did not “give” women the right to vote beginning in 1920. Men stopped denying women their right to vote.
I dropped off my mail-in ballot at the local election office last week. Completing this task was nice, and I encourage all to vote and make your voice heard.

Voted absentee a few weeks ago. Dropped my ballot off at the clerk’s office and checked the website to make sure it was marked received.
At this point it’s too late to mail your ballot. Take it to the clerk’s office or a drop box and check to make sure it was received.

We took ours straight to the township clerk, and handed them to her in person.
