By filling it with quicksand, Tantor the terrible had overdone the pit he prepared for Tarzan in revenge!

And he only wanted to go behind a tree for a quiet hiss…..

Nice to see some other type of animal life than just the usual procession ….

It’s getting to be like the Perils of Pauline in this story arc.

…and then came the mosquitos, tormenting Tarzan as he sank. Then a crocodile who saw Tarzan’s vulnerability slid in off the shore and began to make his way towards Tarzan. Then some hostile forest people with blowguns started shooting darts at Tarzan. Then a giant venomous spider descended from the canopy above. Then the business guy said, "For $500, I’ll get you out of there. Then…

…and another thing. Has anybody you know ever been caught in “quick sand”? Based on the comics, it is about as common coming across pine trees.

Called the python and quicksand a week, or two ago……now where’s the hungry crocodile hiding? Gil Kane is an excellent artist whose talents dominate the Tarzan Sunday strip, at least something to look forward to each week!

So this is the penultimate strip—next week Tarzan drowns in quicksand. Fini.

Whew! Tarzan is so lucky that Brink is there to save him. This could have ended badly.

Quicksand? Bah! Not a problem for our mighty Snake Slayer (snicker snack! His vorpal blade). Nor for anyone else with his wits about him.
