REMEMBER when glove compartment door had the two slots to hold beverages? Used them at A and W

    Long before cup holders.

Before reading the punch line, this reminded me of our S-I-L surprising our daughter to a nice anniversary meal, to which he pulled into a fast food burger joint. He said, “We’re here.” She almost started bawling, but tried to be brave about it. He began laughing and she called him by her loving nickname for him, “You jerk”. He said her face was priceless. Now, if you knew their relationship, this was not cruel, just weird guy humor. Hubby and I cracked up.

When one travels a lot (consumes much fast food on the road), this is most practical. My glovebox holds a never ending supply of salt packets and paper napkins (and baling twine but one would be a horseman to truly “get” that).

The glove box in a Pluggers vehicle is like Batman’s utility belt; it contains a little bit of everything for emergencies.

Has a glove compartment ever held gloves (in general)?

When I was a boy, going out with your parents, ordering food, and eating it in your car was a normal weekend treat. Taking a bunch of bored kids into a restaurant was a waste of money. The rise of family oriented eateries and the corresponding shrinking of automobiles has made that a thing of the past. My favorite, and cheapest for my folks, was White Castle. They actually had carhops who would bring your order to your car and hang it on the window in a little tray.

A pluggers glove box also holds napkins, moist wipes, spoons/forks, salt/pepper/vinegar packets, band-aids and a few wrenches.
