We used to have an oval plastic laundry basket that was irresistible to cats. When it broke up and was no longer useable, we never managed to find another. The rectangular baskets don’t seem to appeal to them.

I think it’s as much the basket as it is the laundry.
Kiki likes to play in the basket when its empty. :)
