I’m head over heels.

Wait…

This strip is a good reminder for people to start thawing the turkey. But due to modern times… I’m having to think of Thanksgiving quite differently. Basically… I’m cooking for one. Two weeks ago I cooked a Pork Roast… and I am still working on finishing it off. It is currently stew… but it is a bit tiresome. Fearful of how long it would take me to consume if I roasted a turkey. At this pace… my Thanksgiving Feast is about to be a TV Dinner!

My Grandmom died forty years ago. Even though I’ve raised a kid to adult hood since then and enjoyed a lot of Thanksgivings, the Norman Rockwell style of Thanksgiving really died with her. Everything else has been a pale imitation. They started playing Christmas songs at the Walmart last week. 1940’s music. That was her music. The seasonal commercialization and the music triggers melancholy now.
