Winners of those Lights contests are all Politics! The Winner in my town has a pathetic little display in a small yard, while in my neighborhood there are at least 2 homes with much better displays and more deserving of winning! and No it’s not me, I don’t decorate for Christmas anymore.
No true Christmas spirit in that household. Only greed. Betcha their “prize” is lumps of coal, that is, if Santa can find their house under all that bling!
Yeah, I know it’s only a comic strip, but, sadly, it reflects the attitude of so many real-life people. Just like “Calvin & Hobbes” where the only thing on the kid’s mind is the “loot” he expects to get for Christmas.
