I’m guessing that he’s to young to use gift cards??* In my younger days, I would tell my mother what my sister wanted for Christmas, if it was “doable,” she’d buy it and then wrap the present herself! As for getting something for my mother, my sister and I would team up and get it, then my sister would do the wrapping! I was all thumbs then and still am now!

I never thought about this before, but I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a paper cut from wrapping paper.

Is anyone actually that clumsy when it comes to wrapping gifts?

He wraps the same way I do. I use brown paper bags and tell the grandkids that I only use compostable materials. No one has complained yet.

I would be the world’s worst gift wrapping employee if I ever tried by hand at that job. No matter how careful I am, it always turns out wonky somehow. Paper folded asymmetrically, white spots were the tape accidentally stuck to the paper where I didn’t want it, tears and paper patches on the front and back… Oh the humanity!

When I was in college I worked at a department store with a gift wrap department. One day (must have been near a holiday) they asked me to help out because they were busy. I told them please no, I was terrible at wrapping gifts. They ordered me to do it anyway. After the first attempt they were embarrassed to charge the person whose package I wrapped and kicked me out of there.
