Answer: Sluggo
8 Down: Blasted
Answer: Lit
I have no doubt that the cruciverbalist (5 dollar word for crossword puzzle constructor. Ironically, spellcheck rejects it.) knew exactly what he was doing when he put these two answers in the same puzzle.
