Is that so you can keep retelling the same fish story and the fish can grow each time you tell the story?

How many people under 50 have (significantly) older friends?

    Not many, is my guess.

When you’re my age, you’re older than almost everybody else. You gotta have younger friends statistically.

Na.. You’re getting it wrong. You want friends of ALL ages. Friends that are ancient, friends older than you, friends your own age, friends younger than you, friends just getting started in life, teeniebopper friends, friends that are children, friends that are little tykes!

My grandmother was 99 and counting when the good Lord took her home and she used to remember EVERYTHING for us. She had a memory better than an elephant. If Iye didn’t have her gene, I’d probably be Jack Nickelson staring at a ceiling! Thank God for good genes and super awesome grandma’’s.

I will be 70 the day before Christmas. My best friend and hunting partner is 51. We have been hunting and hanging together for 12 years. Other than him, well, I am a true introvert and thrive mostly when I am alone. My wife tells me that I am a hermit. I could live like that, I suppose…

Long memory is not bad, but does help to maintain some ancient memories occasionally leading to problems. Probably because some people want to maintain life support for some problems.

“I don’t remember. Don’t you owe me money?”

    “I forget.”

    “Pal!”

When my wife and I were young; most of our friends were 10 to 20 years older than us. Now that we’re in our 60s; most of our friends are 20 to 30 years younger. I guess we’ve always related to the 30 to 40 year olds. That may be where our minds are, but our bodies are moving on in spite of us.

I honestly don’t get the question being asked in the cartoon. Are they proud they can’t remember anything and don’t want anyone around who does? That seems silly. But the post office behind them, when they are usually in a park, well, that does say something to me.

Honestly…my wife is my only real life friend. I know others but they’re only online friends. Sad but true.
