Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Kids at that age must really drive parents up the wall. They need something (food, diaper changed, etc) but they can’t put what they need into words so it’s got to be a maddening guessing game to find out what it is.
Baby April was so much fun to work with. I have always thanked my friend Cathy Guisewite for suggesting that I create her! That sounds strange, doesn’t it.
April knows by now that, any screech from her will always bring her mother running, to pick her up and carry her around the rest of the day. I’d check on her, then leave her to amuse herself.
You don’t need a background for this one so why do unnecessary work? I do find the strips that focus on April crying to be annoying, though. But then I found April to be annoying throughout her lifetime, so there is that. I love this comic but never saw the need for a third kid.

My goodness. Her volume went to GOLD. Sheesh! That’s got to be higher than 11.

I thought it was just focusing on the baby, looks like she needs changing. Just a guess

It’s funny because “decibels” and “syllables” rhyme. Other possible punchlines considered were:
What she can’t say in nouns, she says in frowns.
What she can’t say in verbs, she says in perturbs.
What she can’t say in adjectives, she says in hyperactives.
What she can’t say in prepositions, she says in nuclear fissions.
What she can’t say in dipthongs, she says in this song.
What she can’t say with interjections, she says using interjections.
What she can’t say with conjunctions, she says with great unction.
What she can’t say with suffixes, she says with ruckuses.

The decibels only increase till the babies are picked up. The crying baby gets the milk. A universal rule for grown ups as well.
